About the Author
Terry Ann Felke-Morris is a Professor Emerita of Computer Information Systems at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. She holds a Doctor of Education degree, a Master of Science degree in information systems, and numerous certifications, including Adobe Certified Dreamweaver 8 Developer, WOW Certified Associate Webmaster, Microsoft Certified Professional, Master CIW Designer, and CIW Certified Instructor. Dr. Felke-Morris has been honored with Harper College’s Glenn A. Reich Memorial Award for Instructional Technology in recognition of her work in designing the college’s Web Development program and courses. In 2006, she received the Blackboard Greenhouse Exemplary Online Course Award for use of Internet technology in the academic environment. Dr. Felke-Morris received two international awards in 2008: the Instructional Technology Council’s Outstanding e-Learning Faculty Award for Excellence and the MERLOT Award for Exemplary Online Learning Resources—MERLOT Business Classics. With more than 25 years of information technology experience in business and industry, Dr. Felke-Morris published her first website in 1996 and has been working with the Web ever since. A long-time promoter of Web standards, she was a member of the Web Standards Project Education Task Force. Dr. Felke-Morris was instrumental in developing the Web Development certificate and degree programs at William Rainey Harper College. I LOVE this textbook. One of the best textbooks I've ever used in my life. It's very simple and easy to understand - with examples of code demonstrated. Lots of pictures to illustrate concepts. Best yet - the book is based on a hands-on style. It's not meant to be read through from cover to cover. Instead, a plethora hands-on exercises are provided that walk the reader through coding something and learning by example.At the end of each chapter, more projects are provided to reinforce the learning.I love this text so much that I plan to purchase it after my rental period expires.
This is a great book to start your journey into html and css. I come from a light background of coding, so most of the content is a little easy for me, but I learned how to structure my code and produce some interesting UI's.
Makes web design learning much easier with this book. Gives you step by step instructions. This was a required book for my class. Doing really well in class and it isn't too hard to learn.
It is one of the only textbooks for a class that I would buy a personal copy to use. It was very informative and heavy detailed. Worth every cent spent on it. It gives Pearson access--great study tool for learning HTML & CSS. It has helped me prepare for web certifications. 5 Star book easily. Better than most.

A good introduction to designing web sites, focusing on HTML.
This is actually a really interesting textbook to read. The material is relatively topical and actually not boring to read, which is really rare for most textbooks. I learned quite a bit from this and it helped me build up my own personal website.
